Midweek Roundup – 4 March 2026

A busy few days of announcements to work through. Old World is heading to South Asia, Cities: Skylines is turning 11 with a full month of content, and a handful of releases are coming up fast. Here is everything worth knowing from the middle of the week.

Old World Heads to South Asia with Empires of the Indus

Hooded Horse and Mohawk Games have announced Empires of the Indus, a new DLC for Old World releasing on March 30 via Steam, GOG, and Epic. It adds three playable factions, the Mauryas, the Yuezhi, and the Tamilakam kingdoms, each with distinct mechanics, units, and buildings. Buddhism arrives as a fifth world religion under the Mauryan campaign, the Yuezhi bring a vassalisation system for managing tribal factions, and the Tamilakam scenarios centre on political rivalry between three competing families. The DLC also introduces Hinduism, the Huns as an event-driven hostile faction, four new wonders, a jungle vegetation type, and over 200 new events. Old World has been one of the better 4X releases of recent years and Soren Johnson’s team clearly knows what it is doing with historical content. Worth keeping an eye on. Check the Steam page.

Cities: Skylines Turns 11 with a Month of Content

Paradox Interactive is marking the 11th anniversary of Cities: Skylines with a staggered content rollout across both games throughout March. The original Cities: Skylines gets a free-to-play weekend on Steam from March 5 to 9, followed by the Race Day expansion on March 10, which adds motor racing, running, and cycling events to your city streets. That same date brings two content creator packs, Iconic Brutalism and Renewed History, a new radio station, and a free patch adding roadside fences and an Employment Info View. Cities: Skylines II joins in on March 18 with the Office Evolution and City Stations creator packs plus two more radio stations, alongside an anniversary patch from Iceflake Studios that brings additional bug fixes and improvements. Race Day and its accompanying content will be available individually or as a bundle at $23.99. The Cities: Skylines II content releases separately at $21.99 for the bundle. There are also sale discounts across the series during March.

Space Tales Early Access Launches March 11

Saigon Dragon Studios, best known as an art production partner on over 100 games including They Are Billions, is launching its debut title Space Tales into Early Access on Steam on March 11. It is a retro-futuristic real-time strategy game following a character named Xander Falcon leading humanity against an alien threat. The Early Access build includes eight story missions, two enemy factions with different combat styles requiring different tactical approaches, a survival mode for each mission, and capturable alien boss units that can be deployed on the battlefield. The full campaign adds five more missions, a third enemy faction, and expanded late-game content, with a 1.0 target set for the end of 2026. The art pedigree is there, the concept is solid, and the They Are Billions connection will get people’s attention. Steam page.

Crown of Greed Launches March 31

Crown of Greed from Rodovia is launching on Steam on March 31 at $19.99. It is a kingdom management RTS where you play as a ruler who cannot directly command units, instead influencing heroes through contracts, incentives, and bribes. Those heroes operate with their own AI and randomised traits, meaning the same unit might be a strong fighter against undead but unreliable in general combat. The campaign runs to 12 missions with branching side objectives and a meta-progression system built around a kingdom development panel that unlocks new abilities, units, and buildings across playthroughs. Three difficulty levels gate progression points, encouraging replays. Narrated by George Ledoux. A Supporter Pack adds a digital artbook and soundtrack. Steam page.

Colonial Winds Announced

Dark Shift Games has announced Colonial Winds, a city builder set in the Caribbean during the colonial era. You play as a governor building a settlement, managing production chains, establishing trade routes, and meeting the needs of your population, while also navigating the demands of a distant imperial power. The key decision loop centres on whether to remain loyal to the crown or pursue independence, with economic leverage and armed rebellion both presented as viable paths. It is wishlistable on Steam now for PC and Mac. Announcement trailer is on YouTube.

Warped Universe Early Access Coming Soon

Warped Games, a 12-person independent studio with a background in Jumpgate, Auto Assault, LEGO Universe, and Dragons and Titans, has released a new gameplay trailer for Warped Universe ahead of an Early Access launch on Steam. The game is a co-op sci-fi PvE title where you choose before each mission whether to play in real-time action or turn-based tactics, with both ground combat and space battles available. Solo play is in at launch with co-op arriving later. The trailer is on YouTube and the Steam page is live now.
